Adalouise "Adalou" Cater Dunne, Indianapolis, passed away on April 13, 2024. She was 89 years old. Adalou was born in Chicago, IL to her parents Addison and Helen Cater. She graduated from Marywood High School and attended Northwestern University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree. During her time at Northwestern, Adalou was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. Adalou married her husband, Edward Dunne, on June 23, 1956 and together they shared 67 years of marriage.
Adalou worked as an elementary school teacher for a year before transitioning into being a homemaker for her family. Adalou enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking. She was a talented hostess who thoroughly enjoyed putting together events for her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Adalou is survived by her daughter in law, Deitra Dunne; her grandchildren, Addison Dunne and Madeline (Sean) Dunne Gipson; her nieces and nephews, Jeffrey Warner and Candace Warner.
Adalou is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward Dunne; her son, Christopher Cater Dunne.
