Albert Richard Kenneth Wood, 82, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011. Dick was born on January 6, 1929 in Richmond, IN to the late Forrest G. and Jenny L. (Smith) Wood. He married his love Joyce A. Schneider on August 24, 1951 in Whitewater, IN.
Dick was a general contractor carpenter for 30 years. He was an avid bowler in his younger days; an avid pool player; loved to fish; and enjoyed traveling. He was also a Mason for 4 years in the Indianapolis area.
Dick is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of nearly 60 years; their children: Robert Wood (Diane); Frederick Wood; and Elaine Nelson (Chris); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; wonderful foster parents Ephraim and Pauline Edwards; and siblings.
Forest Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family during their time of loss. A gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at The Ben Franklin Mausoleum on the property of Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood.
