Albert J. "Curly" Yates, 88, of Mooresville IN died Wedneday , December 30, 2009. Albert lived in Okeechobee FL in the winters and Mooresville in the summer. Albert was born to the late Allie and Cora Galloway Yates in Chicago on January 19, 1921. He helped build the Indianapolis sky line working with Ben Bur Construction for over 30 years as a crain operator. He build the stands at the Indianapolis 500 track, and the RCA Dome. Curly was a avid fisherman, member of the V.F.W. 1111 and the American Legion #103. He served our country in the US Navy. Surviving are one daghter and son in-law: Casandra and Danny Berry. One son: Daniel Yates. Five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his wife Dorothy Toney Yates and1 brother and 3 sisters. Family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Monday. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow with military graveside rites at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Memorials may be given to the America Cancer Society.
