Alfred F. "Al" Walters, 79, of Avon, IN died February 9, 2011. Al was born to the late Alfred L. and Nora Hayden Walters in Indianapolis on March 12, 1931. Al worked as a brakeman and conductor with New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail for years. He also drove a Gray Hound bus. Al served our county in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was married to Madonna Delk for 51 years and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law: Susan and Vernon Howard. Three grandchildren: Jessica, Tiffany and Jacob Howard.. He is preceded by two brothers. Family will receive friends from 12:30 pm till time of service at 1:30 pm Friday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143.
