Alice K. Ellis, 75, passed away at IU Methodist Hospital February 8, 2012 with family by her side .She was the daughter of James and Edith (Elliott) White born May 25, 1936 in Greensburg, IN. She married the love of her life Ronald Ellis on August 25, 1957 in Indianapolis. In the past few years Alice had resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Tim Esham. Alice loved playing cards, being with her grandchildren, and caring for others. At one time she even cut her own hair for Lock''s of Love. She had many foster children and enjoyed taking care of special-needs children. She also loved all animals. She never met a stranger and she loved all of her friends.
Survivors include two sons: Ted Ellis, Camby, IN and Gordon Ellis, Franklin, IN; two daughters Rebecca (Tim) Esham, Bargersville, IN and Beverly Williams, CA; two brothers: Richard White, Greensburg, IN and Ross Thomas Evans; five grandchildren, including Cory Shelton and Samantha Ellis; one aunt; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her special pets: dog, Andy and cat, Paw''s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, nephew, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson County Autism Special Olympics.
