Obituary

Mrs. Allie Jean (Shipp) Hale passed away August 12, 2018 peacefully. Mrs. Hale was born March 3, 1922 in Lonoke, Arkansas to Baulty and Stella Shipp. Mrs. Hale met her husband, Dr. Clinton O. Hale, during their high school years in Dyess, Arkansas. They would have been married 78 years, May 2018. In 1941 they moved to Indianapolis. In 1953, together, they started Villa Missionary Baptist Church. In 1972 they founded the Baptist Academy. Many have been influenced through their work together. Mrs. Hale lived in Florida with her son David, daughter Barbara and son-in-law, Stan Ramsey.

Her husband, mother, father, three sisters and three brothers predeceased Mrs. Hale. Mrs. Hale is survived by her seven children: Barbara, Alan, Sherri, Tom, Kevin, Tim and David, 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Hale will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Villa Baptist Church, 2650 Villa Ave., Indianapolis. A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Hale will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood, Indiana.
