Anita Louise
Gibson
Apr 13, 1954 — Jun 25, 2026
Ms. Anita Louise (Bischoff) Gibson of Greenwood passed away peacefully on the early evening of Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the age of 72.
Born in Beech Grove, Indiana, Anita was a beloved daughter of the late Francis Eugene and Juliann (Hartl) Bischoff. She was a proud graduate of Beech Grove High School, Class of 1972.
Anita enjoyed a remarkable career with Arrow Electronics, where she served for more than 20 years as a self-taught semiconductor designer before retiring in 2021. Through determination, intelligence, and an unwavering work ethic, she became highly respected in her field. Her position afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the world, where she not only served clients but also formed many lasting friendships. Anita possessed exceptional business acumen and was known as a savvy investor who approached life with confidence, independence, and wisdom.
For 35 years, Anita called California home, fulfilling a lifelong dream of living on the West Coast. She treasured the many adventures life afforded her, especially skiing and camping trips to beautiful Lake Tahoe. She also looked forward to vacations in Florida with her sister and brother-in-law, where she cultivated several cherished friendships that remained close throughout the years.
Anita found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook, and valued those relationships she maintained over the years. Though miles often separated her from loved ones, she always remained connected through her thoughtful messages, warm spirit, and genuine interest in the lives of others.
She is lovingly survived by her siblings, Stephen (Karen) Bischoff, Larry (Becky) Bischoff and Charlene (Larry) Pierle; and by her cherished nieces and nephews, Stephen John, Michelle, Angelea, Doug, Sam, Martin, Brian and Nichole. She also leaves behind many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and friendship.
Anita was loved by everyone who knew her. She was the best sister anyone could ever ask for.
She is preceded in passing by her parents.
