Anna Sue Kruss, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011. She was born on March 13, 1935 in Osgood, IN to the late Andrew Jackson and Roberta Mae (Huffman) Friend.
Anna was self employed as a private duty nurse in the home health care on the Eastside of Indianapolis for 30+ years as well as being self employed as a florist with Flower Mart in Broad Ripple for many years. She loved arts & crafts; flower gardening; and cooking. She was a long-time member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church; and volunteered for Fayette County Hospital. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Anna is survived by her loving children: Kandyce Bartlett Arnold (Tom) and Thomas Brent'' Bartlett; step-daughter Diane Brinley; brother Andrew Red'' Friend (Katherine); sister Roberta Bannister (John); 6 grandchildren: Rachel, Ryan, Jami, Arthur, Jeremy, and Andrew; and 3 great-grandchildren: Chole, Alison, and Jalen.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melville Kruss; siblings; son James Michael Bartlett; and daughter Gerri Melody Bartlett.
Forest Lawn Funeral Home is assisting the family during their time of loss. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 10701 E. 56th St, Indianapolis.
