Arnold R. Holmes, 87, of Indianapolis, died Thursday, January 14, 2010. Arnold was born to the late Walter and Rebecca Odom Holmes in Goldsboro, NC on December 23, 1922. Arnold retired in 1984 as an Iron worker in Union #22. He married Janice Alexander on January 14, 1948 and she survives. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII as a Seabee. Arnold was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints. Surviving with his wife are two daughters and son in-laws: Janet and Terry Pike and Paula and Steve Jones. Three grandchildren: Michael Burleson, Rebecca and Rachel Jones. Four brothers and sisters precede. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM till time of service at 2:00 PM Monday, January 18, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens and Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. Burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military graveside rites. Memorials may be given to the Richard L. Roudebush Veteran Hospital, 1481 W. 10th street, Indiananopolis, IN 46202.
