Arthur Lee Sapp, 91, of Indianapolis, passed away September 14, 2014. He was born May 6, 1923 in Sherburne, KY to James and Sarah M. (Humphries) Sapp. Arthur was a Plant Supervisor for many different companies in the concrete block manufacturing industry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II who served in New Guinea and received many commendations for his service in the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Searchlight Battalion. He was a member of V.F.W # 2999. He loved to boat and fish and he was an avid C.B. Radio user.
Arthur is survived by his sons, Richard Sapp, Dennis (Brenda) Sapp, Kenneth (Ramona) Sapp and James Sapp; daughters, Sara Fleming and Nancy (Mike) Sprinkle; twenty-two grandchildren and forty one great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Bobby and Duane Sapp; two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 19, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial and military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
