Bailie Denton
Bilbrey
May 3, 1931 — Jul 27, 2021
Greenwood
Bailie Denton Bilbrey, 90, of Greenwood passed away July 27. He was born May 3, 1931 in Crawford, Tennessee to the late M.C. and Delza (Hargis) Bilbrey.
Bailie was a proud US Navy veteran. He married his sweetheart of nearly 65 years, Elva Langford, and together raised two wonderful children. Bailie was an avid outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, fishing, and making his own lures. He worked for 33 years with Whitt Co. where he was a welder and foreman. Jack of all trades and master of none, was Bailie. He could fix anything he put his mind to and had a knack for creating parts that were needed for projects if he couldn't find something that was already manufactured. He and Elva were attendees of Victory Baptist Church in Whiteland. Bailie loved his family and was a great provider. He will be missed dearly by all.
Bailie will be remembered by his wife, Elva; children, Teresa (Michael) Hargrove, and Carl (Cheri) Bilbrey; grandchildren, Philip Hargrove, Racheal Bilbrey and Austin Bilbrey, and step-grandchildren, Nicole Szalaiy, and Karie Szalaiy; five great grandchildren and one great grandson on the way; sister Oma Mae Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bailie was preceded in death by his sister, Kathryn Buckner.
Family will receive friends from 10:30am - 1:30pm Friday, July 30 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143, with service to follow at 1:30pm and military honors at the graveside.
