Mrs. Barbara Allen Bruce, 78, of Greenwood, IN passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. She was born February 25, 1947, in Tampa, Florida a daughter of the late Rueben H. and Rolena D. (Dowden) Allen.
Barbara graduated from Plant City High School in Florida and went on to earn an Associates degree in nursing from Haywood Community College in North Carolina. During her career, she worked as an LPN and a preschool teacher. She was a generous, friendly, loving woman who will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Tim) Downing, granddaughter Allison (Blain) Kime, great grandchildren Brooks and Aria Kime, sister Marilyn (Gary) Conner, nephew Leland Conner, and niece Susie (Michael) Rottink.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, John Bruce; her daughter, Eileen Bruce and her granddaughter, Jennifer Downing.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
