Barbara Droeger, Greenwood, IN passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025. She was 77 years old. Barbara was born in Greenfield, IN to her parents Edgar and Betty Johnson. She graduated from Greenfield High School and attended the University of Indianapolis, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree of science.
Barbara worked as an RN for 43 years and retired from the Indianapolis VA in 2001. As a Christian, she practiced her faith privately. She enjoyed crocheting and cross stitching. Barbara was known to give her creations to friends and family. She was a good cook with a wicked intelligence. Her family will remember her for her organization and sharpness. She loved her family and will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Barbara is survived by her children, Harold (Jennifer) Rodgers, Don (Judy) Carpenter, Carin (Ray) Henderson-Ortiz; her grandchildren, Brandon (Shannon) Rodgers, Jessyca (Joe) Neace, Jennifer Manning, Brooks Manning, Natashia (Tyler) Whistler, Nicole (Tad) Sorrell, Nathan Carpenter, Nick Carpenter, Justin Carpenter, Conner Henderson, and Alex Henderson; her 10 great grandchildren; her siblings, Mary Franke and Susan (Jim) Miner.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Droeger; her brother, David Johnson; her brother-in-law, Tom Franke.
There will be a visitation for Barbara at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. The memorial service will commence at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
