Barbara Joyce Alford, age 71, of Greenwood, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. She was born July 24, 1943 in Indianapolis to Earl W. and Dorothy E. (Wallace) Eaker. Barbara was a housekeeper who loved her flower garden and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She married William E. Alford on July 27, 1962 and he preceded her in death in May, 2003.

Barbara is survived by her son, James Alford; daughters, Melissa (John) Biszantz, and Christy (Michael) Horton; brother, Earl Eaker, Jr.; sister, Mary Ballard; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Raymond Eaker.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with entombment in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, 716 Mt.
