Mrs. Barbara Jean Farley, Indianapolis, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was 82. Barbara was born September 18, 1938 in Beech Grove, Indiana, a daughter of the late Benjamin Perry and Florence Maurgerite (Pfeiffer) Cochran.

Barbara attended Southport High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1956. After graduation, she attended Indiana Central College (now the University of Indianapolis) where she studied Nursing. Barbara worked for 16 years at University Heights Hospital and then for 12 years as the office manager at Olive Branch Christian Church. She was also a member of the Indianapolis Exchange Club and was a former president of the PTA at School 35.

Barbara was a member of the Olive Branch Christian Church for many years where she served as an Elder. She and her husband also had served in the church's food pantry ministry as well as being active with him in many other areas of ministry at the church.

Barbara spent much of her leisure time reading, sewing and watching television. She also enjoyed eating out and going on cruises. She would agree, however, that her greatest accomplishment was her family and she very much loved them and cherished the time they could spend together.

Barbara is survived by her children, Gary (Monica) Farley, Debbie (Steve) Manis, David (Lisa May) Farley and George (Gail) Farley; her grandchildren, Benjamin Farley, Samantha (Braco) Demirovic, Lee Manis, Julie (Jon) Stenger, Christine (Paul) Banister, Michael Farley, Ariel Hairston, Eliza Farley and Perry Farley; her great-grandchildren, Logan Stenger, Audrey Stenger, James Stenger, Madeline Stenger and Corinne Banister and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 60 years, James Edward Farley and a brother Allen Cochran.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 13, 2020  at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 pm, Monday, October 12, 2020 at the funeral home.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the National Kidney Foundation.

Additionally, due to the Covid-19 situation, masks and social distancing will be necessary while in the funeral home. Thank you for your understanding.
