Barbara Leacy 87, of Beech Grove, IN, passed peacefully May 28, 2019.  She was born i n Lowell, Mass. but moved to Newport, RI as a young child.  Barbara graduated from Rogers High School, then started her career as an Executive Secretary.  She began working in the Pentagon for the USAF for several years, then worked for John Hopkins International Electronics.  Barbara married Ralph Leacy June 22, 1957 while he was enlisted in t he US Marine Corps. She loved spending time with family and volunteering at the Southside Seventh Day  Adventist Church where she held many positions and is the oldest and longest member since 1962.

Barbara is survived by her daughters;Cynthia (David) Culp, Linda (Greg) Gibson, and Susan (Glenn) McGarvey; grandchildren Christopher Culp, Nicholas Culp, Sarah Bailey, Thomas Bailey, Liam McGarvey, and Conor McGarvey; and 1 great granddaughter.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Leacy, and mother Edith Smith.

Visitation will be held Monday June 3rd from Noon - 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, Indiana, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM in the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
