Barbara June Quack, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on the early morning of Wednesday, July 10, 2024. She was 94. She was born February 2, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, and was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph T. and Lucille (Bradley) Suttle.
Barbara was a proud graduate of Arsenal Technical High School and later earned an associate degree from business school. Her professional career was marked by dedication and service, working as a supervisor in the transcription department at Saint Francis Hospital. She retired in 1988 after 26 years of commendable service. Even after retirement, Barbara continued to dedicate her time to helping others, volunteering thousands of hours at Saint Francis.
Barbara's family was the cornerstone of her life. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, often visiting Boca Grande, Florida and the Smoky Mountains. Known for her vibrant personality, she was a social butterfly who loved participating in card parties and 'coffee clutches' with her friends. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished life's simple pleasures and imparted those values to her family.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Robert J. Quack and David T. (Terry) Quack; two grandchildren as well as and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three nieces and three nephews.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in passing by her husband, Robert Elmer Quack; a granddaughter, Kayla J. Quack and her sister, Norma J. Richards.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Barbara will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
For those choosing to make a memorial contribution in Barbara's honor, the family has suggested those be offered to the Alzheimer's Association.
