Barbara Claudine (Kelley) Thomas, 83, passed away in Wesley Chapel, Florida on March 18, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 25, 1934.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to be outside, working in the yard, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She was an amazing woman who made friends with everyone she met, always leaving a lasting impression.
Barbara moved to Florida in 2011 after retiring from Meridian Middle School cafeteria of 37 years. She attended Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church since her move to Florida and was a long-time member of Southport Heights Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Goldie Kelley, and her husband of 39 years, Henry Cleon "Skip" Thomas.
She is survived by sons, Jeffrey (Shane) Thomas of Indianapolis and Bradley (Stacey) Thomas of Tampa, Florida; sister Pat (John) Urrutia of Indianapolis; brother David Kelley of Greenwood; grandchildren Ethan, Avery and Rylee Thomas of Tampa, Florida; Whitney Vosika of Indianapolis; Bradley Brightwell of West Melbourne, Florida and 2 great grandchildren, Gabriel and Dylan.
We will forever cherish our memories that she leaves with us. We will miss her dearly, but we rejoice and have peace knowing she is dancing in heaven with her beloved husband, Skip, who she longed to be reunited with.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday March 24, 2018 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home at 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143 with visitation from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please donate to Lupus, Arthritis or Cancer related charities.
