Obituary

Barry Kent Campbell, 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and love, on April 24, 2026.

Born on December 16, 1959, in Liberty, Kentucky, Barry grew up on the west side of Indianapolis. He graduated from Ben Davis HS and Purdue University (1995). He spent his life devoted to his family and community. Barry proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1986. He happily retired in 2020 from a career in Quality Engineering.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven; his father, Ernest “Fess”; and mother, Lula.

Barry is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 23 years, Judy; their children, Vince (Kati), Andrew (Laura), Brian, Natalie, and Collin; their three grandchildren, Josh, Owen, and Audrey; and his sisters, Pam Lovelady (Steve), Kim Price (Mark), and Angie Moore (Pat).

Barry was many things to many people—a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was known as a man of faith, natural conversation starter, and someone who could make friends wherever he went. A devoted fan of the Rolling Stones, he was also a talented handyman, an expert in pool maintenance, and an avid volunteer. Barry’s warmth and kindness even led him to become an “adoptive grandparent” to many children in his neighborhood.

The visitation will be held at Forest Lawn on May 1 at 4-7 pm and funeral service at Forest Lawn on May 2 at 10-11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rocklane Church at 4430 Rocklane Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143.
