Obituary

Bernard "Bud" Asbery was born December 11, 1942 in Casey County, Kentucky to George and Lillie Asbery. He departed this life and entered his heavenly home on July 10, 2020.

Bud married the love of his life, Rosetta "Rosie" Hart on March 12, 1965 and together they built their family of two wonderful children: Christina (Ian Tobin) Asbery and Jeff (Beth) Asbery. Those children gave him some of his greatest earthly gifts in the form of these grandchildren: Adam Asbery, Wyatt Asbery, Sean Tobin and Rian Tobin. Bud's first great-grandchild will join the family in December, 2020.

Bud received his Ordination from Bethel General Baptist in September, 1973 and was a blessing to anyone who had the opportunity to hear his teachings and share his love for Jesus Christ.

Bud worked at the same steel fabrication shop for 41 years. The shop was Hugh J. Baker when he first hired in; then Farnsworth Steel and finally, United Steel. He spent the last 7 years of his career at Thomas Euclid Industries.

Bud is survived by his wife, Rosie, his sister, Anna Herzog, his children and grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents; his sister, Sylvia Phelps and her husband Glen; his brother James "Shorty" Asbery and his wife Margaret.

A celebration of life will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden and Funeral Home in Greenwood, IN on Saturday, July 18 th with visitation from 10: 00 AM to 12:00 Noon and services immediately following.
