Betty Jean Jones, 87, of Greenwood, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away August 21, 2013. The daughter of Hosie D. and Clessie M. Law Boyd, Betty was born January 13, 1926 in Scottsville, Kentucky.
A retired realtor, Betty and Marlin owned and operated Red''s Grille in Indianapolis from 1958 to 1967. She was a member of the Cloverdale VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Betty loved dancing, sewing and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors: daughter, Betty Lomoro of Greenwood; sisters, Joyce Clark of Scottsville, KY and Alice Hughbanks of Greenfield; grandchildren, Brent Ziegler, Lori Buntin, Andrea Johannes, Tricia Vincent and LeAnne Whitt; 6 great-granddaughters and 5 great-grandsons. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by husband, Marlin, whom she married on March 7, 1946; daughter, Brenda S. Stanley; brothers, Jewel and Julian Boyd and sister, Carol Fishburn.
Services 1:00 p.m. August 27, 2013 in Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
