Betty Jo Bray, 79, of Franklin, passed away January 10, 2015. The daughter of Carroll and Willie (Puckett) Emerson, Betty was born June 12, 1935 in Corinth, Mississippi.

She worked as a nurse''s aide for many years in area nursing homes, most recently at Franklin Nursing Home. She was a member of Dayspring Baptist Church, Trafalgar. She enjoyed reading her Bible, embroidering and crocheting and putting together puzzles.

Betty is survived by son, Harold W. (Debbie) Bray of Columbus; daughters, Carolyn J. (Rod) Phillips of Butte, MT, Kathy L. Bray (John McClure) of Franklin, Brenda J. Bray, Marilyn S. (John) Brinkman and Donna C. Terry, all of Greenwood; 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death on May 6, 1996 by her husband, Mancil Lee Bray, whom she married on January 28, 1950; a son, Jerry L. Bray and sisters, Pauline Wilkins and Florene Wilkins.

Pastor Peter D. Baugh will officiate at funeral services 12:00 p.m. January 14, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. January 13th at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
