Elizabeth Lou Mitchell, 85, of Indianapolis, widely know as "Betty" ,passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2008 after a courageous battle with a long term illness. She was born on April 8, 1923 in Okmulgee, OK to Joseph and Roberta Oakley Morgan. She was a devoted wife and mother and her hobbies were, taking in less than perfect information from protected sources above, which included all manner of mis-direction, jokes and trickery, while lovingly applying well thought wisdom and candid to-the-point guidance. She was strong and gracious in her sorrows and was wondrous and wise in her ways. She had taken care of us,so we will not regret our loss as she joins our heavenly father once again. Survivors include 5 children: Fred (Nancy) Mitchell, Robert (Susie) Mitchell, JoAnn Cross, Michael Mithell, John (Georgianna) Mitchell, sister: Billie Jean, 30 grandchildren and numerous great grand children. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Fredrick Mitchell, whom she married in 1937 and he died in 1993, 3 daughters: Rebecca, Betty Linda, Nita Kaye, 5 children in infancy and brother: Chet, sisters: Mary and Beck. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 24,2008 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. St. Rd. 135, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of service.
