Mrs. Betty Jane Taylor, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at her residence. She was 89. Betty was born November 19, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Carl Stanley and Minnie May (Lawton) Fugate.

Betty graduated High School in Indianapolis and devoted her life to being a homemaker, caring for her family. She deeply loved her family and enjoyed taking care of and looking after her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and in her leisure time enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Betty was a member of the Beech Grove Wesleyan Church.

Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Melissa Taylor and Shawn (Todd) Comstock; her great-grandchildren, Justin Bullock, Brandon Bullock, Taylor McDonough, Hannah Comstock and Hayden Comstock as well as a son-in-law, Ray Webb.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, R.L. Taylor, whom she married June 5, 1948; a son, Ronald Taylor and a daughter, Carolyn Webb.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 31, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until service time Monday at the funeral home.
