Mrs. Betty Jean Terhune, Lynchburg, Virginia, passed away on the morning of Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was 94. Betty was born January 21, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Thomas A. and Jessie (Jennings) Hoover.

Betty had been employed for several years in the hotel industry and had retired from Stouffer's Hotel as a waitress in 1992 after 15 years of service.

Betty spent much of her leisure time crocheting, shopping and listening to her husband play his guitar. She got much pleasure from babysitting her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Betty was a member of Paragon Christian Church.

Betty is survived by her children, Conard (Sheila) Terhune, Jr., Terri (Jerry) Rivers, Patricia (Harold) Holland, Sharon (Michael) Cowan, Glenda (David) Hunt and Gerald (Heather) Terhune; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband, Conard E. Terhune, Sr. and eight siblings.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 10, 2022 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with burial following at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
