Beual M. "Jack" Ball, age 93, of Greenwood, IN passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at The Hearth in Greenwood, surrounded by his family. Beual was born February 8, 1921 in Greeneville, TN to Walter D. and Lilly May (Brown) Ball. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 1, 1940 and served his country bravely in the Normandy invasion and at the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in Luxembourg and received a Purple Heart. He later left the Army on October 13, 1945. Beual became a Tool and Die Maker at General Motors and worked there for 28 years. He was an avid fisherman and was a member of the National Camping and Hiking Association. He loved to swim and boat and he was a well known "mall walker". He will be sorely missed by all who know and love him.
Beual is survived by his sons, Michael W. (Jackie) Ball and Daniel E. Ball; daughters, Kathyrn Hansen, Suzan A. Gilley, Janet L. (John) Milenbaugh and Connie L. (Rick) Williams; sisters, Patsy Griffin and Betty Sams; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ott, Raymond, Gene and Jack Ball; sisters, Mary Moss, Mildred Kelly, Barbara Jean Stills, and Lolidge Ball; grandson Andrew Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 4, at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. The family has requested that no flowers be sent, however, donations to The Alzheimer''s Association are greatly appreciated.
