Beulah Clarke Batts, age 82, of Smith Valley, passed away November 21, 2010. She was born December 15, 1927 in Plainfield, IN to Harry H. and Clara (Peachee) Clarke. Beulah was a member of Smith Valley United Methodist Church. She was an avid seamstress as well as a homemaker, and she loved to garden and go camping. She married Louis Batts July 22, 1946 and he preceded her in death in July, 1990. Beulah is survived by her sons, Richard (Candy), of Indianapolis, and Alan (Gloria) Batts, of Trafalgar; daughters, Christine Smith, of Lawrence, IN and Clara (Charlie) Martin, of Beech Grove; brother, Harry J. (Ruby) Clarke, of Delaware, OH; 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 24 at 3:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 1:00 PM to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
