Beverly Jean Powell, age 79, of Paragon, IN went to be with her Lord, on Sunday, July 29, 2012 surrounded by her family. Beverly was born January 1, 1933 in Indianapolis to Harry and Dorothy (Richardson) Skaggs. Beverly was a Dietician at University Heights for many years. She married Theodore "Ted" Powell and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her son, Brent Powell, and brother, Harry Skaggs, Jr. Beverly loved her church, Paragon Bible Baptist, and truly enjoyed being the Greeter as well as singing in the choir.
Beverly is survived by her son, Ron (Deanna) Powell of Greenwood; daughter, Deborah (Charles) Morris of Paragon; sister, Sue Covington, of Indianapolis; daughter in law, Theresa Powell, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Charles (Becky) Morris, Jr., of Martinsville, Carie Galarza, of Monrovia, Asheley Powell of Billings, MT, Nichole (Matthew) Wykes of Tampa, FL and Donald Johnson, Jr. of Castleberry, FL, Jason Powell of Indianapolis, and Kristin Haley of Plainfield, all of whom she adored; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Kane Ringer officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
