Obituary

Birdie J. Wampner-Hutter, 87, passed away June 18, 2013 at her Sarasota, Florida residence. The daughter of Thomas and Sylvania Skipper Johnson, Birdie was born July 23, 1925 in Anderson, Alabama.

She was a retired assembler with RCA. Birdie was a member of South Trail Church of Christ in Sarasota and work with the church food pantry.

Survivors include her husband, Charles "Chick" Hutter, whom she married in Sarasota on February 19, 2004; son, Michael (Betty) Wampner; daughters, Peggy (Dev) Cammer and Brenda (Danny) Pierson; stepson, Chris (Peggy) Hutter; sister, Pearl Hood; 7 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Birdie was preceded in death by her first husband, Evert "Wimpy" Wampner, whom she married on December 26, 1945 and died on October 12, 1998; a granddaughter; brothers, Eugene, Hollis, Oneal, Otis, Tunis, Charles and Thomas Johnson and sisters, Flora McQuary, Earlene Morrison, Lois West and Doris Allen.

Services 11:00 a.m. June 25, 2013 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home - 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. June 24, 2013. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.
