Mr. Bobby Gene Barnes, Clay City, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, February 20, 2023. He was 70. Bobby was born September 11, 1952 in Vincennes, Indiana, a son of the late Jack Donald and Ruth Imogene (Grubb) Barnes.
Bobby honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the VietNam Conflict. He had been a plumber for over 40 years and was the owner of Sure Flow Plumbing for 15 years.
Bobby enjoyed his rifles and shooting as well as riding his Jeep out in the country. He also enjoyed fishing in his pond, camping and tinkering around his home.
Bobby is survived by his children, Amber Smith and Chris Barnes as well as his grandchildren; his sister, Lorraine Ridgely and a nephew.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Billie Rae Barnes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood with his friend, Ken Oliver, officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens following the services.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
