Bobby "Cowboy" Gene Shrout, Brownsburg, IN, passed away on Sunday March 23, 2025. He was 85 years old. Bobby was born in Crawfordsville, IN to his parents Leland and Genevieve Shrout. Bobby married his first wife, Tena, on October 13, 1965, and they shared 37 years of marriage together until Tena passed away in 2002. Bobby later married N. Louise Gwinn on August 28, 2004, and they shared 20 years of marriage together.
Bobby worked in production at General Motors for 30 years and retired in 1996. Bobby also farmed and drove trucks to support his family. Bobby enjoyed building and driving hot rod cars; he frequented hot rod car shows with his friends and family. Bobby also took pride in maintaining his lawn and caring for his garden. He was also known to enjoy fishing in his free time. Bobby loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her will be remembered for his direct nature and perfectionist mindset. Bobby will be dearly missed by those he leaves behind.
Bobby is survived by his wife, N. Louise Shrout; his children, Terry (Diana) Shrout and Christina (Robert) Farmiga; his step-children, Charlene Faye Miller, Ricky Gravitt, and Mary Gibson; his grandchildren, John-Paul Miller, Tyler Gravitt, Tara Gravitt, Samantha Mooring, Justin Shrout, and Michael Harness; step-grandchildren, Samantha Wells and Andrew Craig; his great grandchildren, Zachary, Kelley, Bently, and Augustine; his sisters, Pat Webb, Mary Thomas, and Anne Tomlinson; his beloved dog, Missy.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tena Shrout; his stepdaughter, Kaye Kinsey; his two sisters.

A visitation for Bobby will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 1:30 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens at 2:30 pm.
