Bon Kilgore, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away in his home on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 .  He was born at home in Indianapolis, on February 7, 1927 , the son of the late Byron and Betty Walker Kilgore.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Kring Kilgore; his daughter, Bonnie Madley (Tony); and, his sons Robert Mark Kilgore (Donna) and Michael Kilgore.  He is also survived by Linda's sons, David Kring; William Kring (Sandy); and Robert Kring (Jen); his sister, Donna Bruce (Henry); 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.   He loved his country!  He was compassionate, caring, emotional (about children in general, but especially at Christmas).  For years he would purchase dolls for the girls and trucks for the boys to contribute to Toys for Tots.  He had a loving soul!
He was a problem solver and was skilled in many trades.  He loved the great outdoors and enjoyed fishing and birdwatching; he enjoyed watching the Colts and university football and basketball.  He especially enjoyed
FOXNEWS.
He began his employment career at the age of 13 delivering cleaning, prescriptions, etc. He turned 18 in Feb. 1945 and joined The US ARMY AIR CORP.  He tried to join when he was 16, in the midst of WW2, but "got caught"!  He served until his discharge in 1947.  He went to work for Indiana Bell Telephone Co. as a Technician in 1947, retiring from there in Sept. 1982 after 35 years.
He attended Friedens United Church of Christ.  He especially enjoyed the teachings of Pastor Marc Hayden.
