Brian Harold Bretz, 60, of Camby was unexpectedly called home to be with his Lord Monday, February 24.  He was born in Indianapolis September 1, 1959 to David and Linda (Ulrey) Bretz.

Brian was currently working for The Sullivan Corporation in Noblesville, Indiana.  He was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker, enjoyed working with his hands and was very generous with his talents.  Brian married Debbie (Hassell) Bretz on September 20, 2008, and also became a stepfather to two stepchildren, Crystal and Nathan.  When he wasn't busy working, Brian was an avid outdoorsman, spending hours fishing on his favorite lakes and streams, playing on his ATVs and watercraft, and gardening at home.  He had quite the green thumb; anything he planted grew to award winning size and in amazing quantities.  The family couldn't keep up with all the produce so neighbors and co-workers benefitted from his bounty.  Brian loved Jesus and trusted in Him with all his heart; he loved his church family at Springhill Christian Center in Mooresville.  More than anything, Brian loved his family, especially his step-granddaughter Isabel.

Brian is survived by his wife, Debbie; stepdaughter, Crystal Wilcox; stepson, Nathan Hood; step-granddaughter, Isabel Hood; mother, Linda Bretz; sister, Sylvia Bretz; and nephew, Axl Benduhn.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, David.

Family will receive friends Saturday, February 29 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S.
