Mr. Buren "Bernie" Spaulding, Mooresville, Indiana passed away on the early morning of Tuesday, February 9, 2021. He was 92. Bernie was born October 28, 1928 in Browns Valley, Indiana a son of the late Floyd Merle and Bessie Vera (Frederick) Spaulding.

Bernie attended Jamestown High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1946. In 1949, he moved along with his new bride, to Texas to work in the oil fields but soon moved back to Indiana where he began a long career with Allison Gas Turbine that lasted 38 years. He retired in 1988 as a pipe fitter. A hard working man, he also was the owner of Spaulding Landscaping for 30 years and worked at his own business while working at Allison's.

He was a collector of antique tractors and trucks which led to his membership in the Boone County Antique Tractor Club. He was also a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. A resourceful man, Bernie had at one time owned a salvage yard and he could work on and repair most anything. He was of the United Methodist faith.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Janet (Oyler) Spaulding; his children, Carolyn Sue (Mark) Klene and Daryl Lee (Diana) Spaulding; his grandchildren, Kim Smeyers, Kelly Shepherd, Lora Engleman, Ashley Vance and James Buren Spaulding; 10 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by seven brothers, Charles, Vernon, Clayton, Virgil, Leon, Lowell and his twin brother, Buel Spaulding.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will received friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
