Carl Alfred Orman, 79, passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 at Community South Hospital. Carl was born on April 8, 1932 in Howesville, IN to the late Silas and Ruth (Latham) Orman. Carl was a U.S. Marine veteran serving from 19521960. He later married his love Tressa Y. Medley on September 1, 1960.
Carl was an enamel maker for many years prior to retirement. He was a very hard worker, enjoyed watching sports, and previously coached softball. He was a member of Indianapolis Baptist Temple in Indianapolis.
Carl is survived by his loving wife Tressa of 51 years; their children: Cindy Orman, Dan Orman, and James Orman (Jinnene); grandson Danny Orman; siblings: Della Pennington, Lowell Orman (Sharon), Lee Orman (Charlene), and Delores Bullock; and step-grandchildren: Kimberly Roberts, Katie Potts, Rheannah Hoover, and Vivian Hoover.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood with the funeral immediately following. Pastor Greg Dixon will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or Indianapolis Baptist Temple, 4002 E. Southport Road, Indianapolis 46237.
