Carla M. Volz, 70 of Indianapolis passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026. She was born to the late Carl and Vera Niedenthal.

Carla was a big family person. She enjoyed having her family around and loved being with her grandchildren. Her two favorite people to have lunch with were her brother Bob and her sister Rose. She bowled at Sport Bowl for many years and enjoyed playing euchre. She was a big fan of the Colts. On game day, she enjoyed having Colts get togethers at her house. She always offered an extra Colt's jersey for those that had the wrong team jersey on. Florida was her favorite vacation spot and always enjoyed the sun and being poolside. She babysat many kids over the years and was always known for her peanut butter and jelly's. She really enjoyed being a school bus driver for Perry Township for 19 years.

Carla leaves behind her husband of 20 years Gary Volz, four children Troy (Shannon) Schlenz, Brian Schlenz, Kevin (Victoria) Schlenz and Laura McGuiness and two stepchildren Justin (Montse) Volz and Jessica (George) Niland; ex-husband Charles M. Schlenz: 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild and a sister Betty. She is proceeded in death by both parents and two siblings Robert Niedenthal and Rose Tanner.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 6, 2026 at St. Marks Catholic Church 535 Edgewood Ave, Indianapolis 46227. She will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
