Mrs. Carol Jean Bowman, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on the late afternoon of Friday, May 16, 2025 at the age of 93.
Carol was born on September 4, 1931, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a cherished daughter of the late Adam and Ruth (Roller) Krebs.
A devoted homemaker,
Carol dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a loving home. She was a woman of deep affection and quiet strength who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved playing cards—particularly Euchre and Rook—dancing with her beloved husband and sister, shopping and watching her favorite game shows and soap operas on television.
Carol was happiest when surrounded by family, especially during holidays when she would prepare large, delicious meals with care and love. Her cooking and warm hospitality were the heart of many cherished family gatherings. She had a gentle soul, a beautiful spirit and a generous heart. Her love for others was genuine and boundless, and it was returned to her many times over.
Carol is survived by her children: Marilyn (Garry) Sizemore, Clifton Bowman and Julia (Rick) Cain; her grandchildren: Bryan, Sandra, Cheryl, Amanda and Jessica; twelve great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alfred Bowman as well as her siblings: Les Krebs, Vivian Monroe and Bob Krebs.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Greenwood. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Carol will be remembered with love and gratitude for the joy she brought to the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will be held close in the hearts of her family forever.
