Carol Jean
Briede
October 23, 1954 – May 18, 2026
Carol Jean Briede, Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026. She was 71 years old. Carol was born in Hamilton, OH to her parents Frank “Junior” and Vicy Spurlock Jr. She earned her GED from New Miami High School. Carol married her husband, Don Briede, on June 6, 1987, and together they shared 39 years of marriage.
Carol worked as a homemaker, lovingly caring for her family. She also ran her own cleaning business. In her free time, Carol enjoyed tending to her flowerbed, relaxing at the pool, or unwinding at the beach- it was always five o’clock somewhere. Her wonderful sense of humor and loving nature earned her the best titles of all- “Mama” and “Great-Mama.” Carol’s greatest joy in life was caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband, Don Briede; her children: Rick (Robin) Heaberlin, Jen (Collin) Poe, Ryan Briede, and Ryan (Connie) Heaberlin; her grandchildren: Dillon (Madison) Heaberlin, Bradi Heaberlin, Kaley (Shelby) Wolfe, Peyton (Jacob) Eanes, Chandler Heaberlin, and Lynzi Heaberlin; her great grandchildren: Rilee Day, Loralynn Harper, James, Zoey, Darcy and one on the way; her siblings, Don Spurlock and Charles (Dottie) Spurlock; and several nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents: Frank “Junior” and Vicy Spurlock Jr.; her daughter in law, Joanna Briede and sister-in-law Marietta Spurlock.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
