On Sunday, August 12 ^th , 2018, Carol S. Johnson, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away in her home at the age of 74.

Carol (Susie), was born August 20 ^th , 1943 in Indianapolis to Charles & Laura McCarty. She graduated from Southport High School in 1961. Carol worked as legal secretary and for a local television station before spending the last 44 years of her life driving a school bus for the Greenwood Community School system.

Carol was a very giving and compassionate woman. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was sweet, gentle and always put other's needs before her own. Helping others made her feel useful. The last months of her life were plagued with health issues which required her to be on the receiving end of caregiving for a change. In many of her last conversations she expressed how uncomfortable it was to receive care and assistance from family and friends. She was always much more comfortable giving than receiving. She will be greatly missed until the Lord returns. The world is a little darker place now that she is gone.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Laura in September of 1997; her husband, Harold in January of 2002 and her father, Charles in January of 2015.

She is survived by her two brothers, Edward and Kenneth, by her 4 children, Mike, Janice, Walter and Crystal, her six grandchildren Ronnie, Emilie, Joshua, Amber, Miriam and Rachel. She is also survived by her aunts, Mary and Shirley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
