Carolyn Sue Clark (Wayman) peacefully left this earth on March 24, 2024. She was born in Brown County Indiana on January 12, 1938 to Chester and Elpha Flo Wayman. She grew up with three siblings: Ernie(Bea) Wayman, Patty(Lewis) Bailey, and Gail(Darlene) Wayman.
Carolyn married the love of her life, David Lee Clark, on July 28, 1957. Here's the story she loved to tell of how they met.
While trying to get a job, an angel, in the form of a cleaning lady, told her that Danners 5 and 10 Store was hiring across the street. There she met the handsome assistant manager and they fell in love over the record counter where she was a shop girl. They went from working in stores to owning and operating a successful bookstore, The Christians Bookshelf.
Dave and Carolyn had three children who were born and raised mostly in Indiana. Tim(Pam) Clark, Steve(Charlotte) Clark, and Lisa(Tim) Cole.
Carolyn became Grammy to 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Serissa Clark, John Mark(Ely) Clark, Paul(Lydia) Clark, Levi Clark, Stephanie Clark, Heather Clark, Philip Clark, Pearl Clark, Emily Cole, Susan Cole, Vika(Garrett) Claytor, and Timmy Cole Great grands are Olive and Juniper Clark.
Carolyn loved her family and her Lord. She was a cheerleader in her youth and lived her whole life with that spunk. A seamstress, a singer, a motivational speaker and teacher were just some of the talents she shared during her adventure packed 86 years! She traveled around the US and around the world sharing her love for the Lord. She did all this and more with quick wit and a smile!
Carolyn will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Greenwood, IN.
Visitation will be April 14, 2024, from 3 to 5pm. The Graveside Funeral will occur the following day, April 15, at 10am.
In honor of Carolyn's favorite colors please wear blue or yellow.
