Carolyn S. Russell, 90, formerly of Bargersville passed away on Thursday March 19th surrounded by her loved ones. She was born to the late George and Alma Smith in Coal City February 25, 1936.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles (2020); her daughter, Lisa Shoemaker (2018); her great grandson, Austin Weaver (2021); brother Howard Smith (2009) and sister Helen. Carolyn is survived by one daughter, three step children, 12 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.

Carolyn loved touring the US with Charles on their Goldwing and boasted visiting 48 of the states. She cherished time with her family and always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren. While at home she could often be found enjoying a glass of wine with her friends and neighbors. Carolyn was a member of Center Grove Church and of the Greenwood Order of Eastern Star.

Visitation will be Friday, March 27th 2026 from 11:00 am until 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles following a 1:00 pm service.
