Obituary

Cecil Lee Bland, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was 70. Lee was born September 30, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of the late William Henry Bland and Edna Marcella (Yount) Garmon.

Lee attended Emmerick Manual High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1970. He had also been employed at Methodist Hospital in the surgery supply department and retired after nearly 45 years of service. He spent much of his leisure time watching TV and particularly enjoyed Westerns and cartoons. He loved gardening and taking care of his plants. He also looked after the landscaping plants and flowers at his residence, Neighbor Care of Chapel Hill (formerly Crestwood West). Lee dearly loved his family and loved the moments they could spend together. He attended Lakeview Church.

Lee is survived by his father, Elvis Garman; his sisters, Pat Burpo (special friend, Mike Myers), Rae Jean Myers and Linda Sue (Les) Bird; his cousin, Rodger Smith as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a nephew, Robbie Burpo and a niece, Donna Sue Grubbs.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday, October 9, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
