Charles Kenneth
Magers
Nov 11, 1941 — Aug 16, 2021
Charles Kenneth Magers, age 79, passed away peacefully Monday, August 16, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. He was born November 11, 1941, in Smithsgrove, Kentucky to Claude and Mary Magers. He married the love of his life, Lura Ann Magers, in September of 1961. Once as neighbors, they met on their front porch in Louisville, KY. Kenneth said, "he knew at first sight that he was going to marry her".
"Kenny" loved to hunt and fish. You would always see him working on cars, farm equipment, lawn mowers; you name it he done it. He constantly found projects to do around the house, especially outdoors, whether it was cutting out wood figurines for his wife or building additions to the house. He was always there to lend a helping hand for anyone in need. On occasion you would catch him reading a paper. When Kenny was younger, he worked the tobacco farm with his Dad. For many years Kenny worked at Fairmont Glass Container in the shipping department, but eventually transitioned into maintenance. He retired from Schuster Block as a mechanic. He left an everlasting impression on all who met him.
Kenny is survived by his four children Gail (Bob) Aaron, Kenny (Ruth) Magers, Tony (Peggy) Magers, and Susan (Jay) Fisher; Grandchildren Niki Carrico, Sabrena (Travis) Ham, Allen (Christina) Magers, Whitney (Travis) Hackleman, Kayla (Joe) Byrum, Kayce Magers, Kaden Magers, plus 16 great-grandchildren. All of these he loved and touched deeply. Kenny is preceded in death by his mother Mary Susie Magers, his father Claude Magers, ten brothers and sisters, granddaughter Katie Ann Sellers, and great-grandson Carter Lewis DeVoe.
