Obituary

Mr. Charles Lee McGinnis, Indianapolis, passed away on the late morning of December 23, 2021 at Community Health South Hospital. He was 83. Lee was born February 14, 1938 in Beech Grove, Indiana, a son of the late Edward Charles and Mary Ellen (Lime) McGinnis.

Lee attended Center Grove High School and was a member of the Graduating Class of 1958. He had been employed as a driver for several local firms namely FleetMax and the Odessa Auto Auction and retired from Advance Auto Parts as a delivery driver in 2017.

Lee was a proud veteran of the National Guard and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Greenwood. He loved to dance, fish, hunt and go camping. He also enjoyed playing golf, bowling at Southern Bowl and a good game of cards, especially Solitaire. He had been a bowling instructor and coach for several years as well. Lee also enjoyed going to flea markets, looking for 'treasures' and was also a fan of the Indiana Pacers.

Lee is survived by his wife, Janice (Wills) Brewer; his children, Angie McGinnis and Charles 'Chuck' McGinnis; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild as well as two sisters, Susie and Nora Jean and his nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by a brother.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with Pastor Danny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
