Charles Melvin Rinker, 84, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2011. He was born in Paoli, IN. to the late Roy Elkinburger and Minnie Rinker. Charles served his country in the United States Air Force and was awarded a Victory Medal. Charles retired from Western Electric twenty-seven years ago and was a member of the pioneers'' organization. Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Deloris; one daughter, Gayle Shaffer; one son-in-law, Gary Judd; one great-grandson, Bowen James Powers. Survivors include one son, Marvin (Patsy) Rinker; one daughter, Yvonne Judd; two sisters, Mildred Hansel, and Lilly Dale; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A service will follow on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
