Charles Richard Sims, 79, of Indianapolis passed away Sunday, April 12 in Greenwood, Indiana.  He was born December 30, 1940 in Indianapolis to Charles and Ethel (Blackford) Sims.

Charles was a proud member of the Marines and served our country during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He married his love, Maria Agostino, in May of 1963 and together they raised 4 children.  Charles was a member of St. Jude church and when he wasn't busy working his railroad job he spent time fixing things around the house or woodworking.  Charles loved his family and will be missed by many.

Charles is survived by his wife, Maria; children, Chrissinda Maria (Ron) Coulsin, Charles Francis Sims, Daniel Richard Sims, and Elizabeth "BJ" (Kelly) Klassen; siblings, Herbie Sims and Betty Welty; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by siblings, Donald, David, Ethel, Deloris, Alice and Mike.

The family will be planning a celebration of life at a later date. Forest Lawn Funeral Home is honored to assist Mr. Sims' family with arrangements.
