Charles "Doug" Stegemoller, age 62 of Greenwood died at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. Born September 16, 1946 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ed and Laurella (Duncan)Stegemoller. On September 10, 1982 in Indianapolis, he married Sandra Land-Woolsey. He retired from SBC after 38 years of service as a computer technician. Doug was also a decorated veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corp and the U.S. Navy having served in the Vietnam War on the USS Bon Homme Richard. Survivors include his wife Sandra, 3 daughters, Jamie(Kristopher) Jones, Charlene Napier, and Melinda Capps; 6 Grandchildren, Larry Napier, Amanda Napier, Ashley Capps, Alyssia Capps, William Capps and Jacob Jarrett; 4 brothers, Dan, David, Dean and Duane Stegemoller and one sister Linda Sheets. Doug also has several nieces and nephews surviving and has one Great Grandchild on the way. Doug was preceded in death by his father. Services will be at 1:00pm Thursday July 2, 2009 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home 1977 South State Road 135 in Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday July 1st at the funeral home. Burial will follow services in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens where military rites will be accorded.
