Obituary

Mr. Charles Robert Taylor, Indianapolis, passed away on the early morning of Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was 80. Charles was born September 30, 1940 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Charles E. and Mary (McCawley) Taylor.

Charles attended Emmerick Manual High School and was a member of the graduating Class of 1958. Charles was a veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Army as a military policeman at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Aberdeen, Maryland. After his military service, he was employed with the Ford Motor Company as an assembly line worker and retired in 1999 after 34 years of service. He spent his leisure time treasure hunting and caring for his dogs. He was also an avid fan of the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts and was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor. Charles dearly loved his family and he looked forward to the time they could spend together.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Ison) Taylor; his children, Robert (Denise) Taylor, Tina (Sam) Lynn and Debbie (Earl) Adams; his grandchildren, Courtney Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Brandon Adams and Anthony Adams; his brothers, Leroy Taylor and William Taylor as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his parents.

Charles' family will gather to witness his burial at 3:00 pm, Monday, May 24, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution, the family has suggested those be offered to the Alzheimer's Association of the American Cancer Society.
