Charles Thomas McDonough, age 81, longtime resident of Beech Grove, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 with his family at his side. He was born January 28, 1933 in Beech Grove to Thomas Joseph and Oshia (Baldwin) McDonough. Tom graduated from Beech Grove High School with the Class of 1950. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and later he went to work for Indiana Bell/ Ameritech. Tom was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America, American Legion 40/8, the Lion''s Club, and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a former City Council member in Beech Grove and he coached Little League Baseball. He played baseball, football and basketball in high school and was an avid sports fan.

Tom married the former Marcia A. Bowser on December 27, 1958 and she survives him along with their son, Robert Joseph (Sarah) McDonough; daughter, Kellie McDonough; grandchildren Abby Jeanelle and Mark Thomas McDonough. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Mary Katherine Hughes.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Greenwood, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Southside Animal Shelter or the A.S.P.C.A.
