Charles A. Toms, Sr., age 88, of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. Charles was born March 14, 1927 in Indianapolis to Thorston and Anna (Brinson) Toms. He was a graduate of Decatur Central High School with the Class of 1945. He was a Tool and Die man who did layout inspections for Ford Motor Company for many years. Charles was the oldest member of Mars View Christian Church. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and an avid horse racing and I.U. basketball fan.

Charles married the former Lola M. Lawrence in 1951 and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2015. Charles is survived by his sons, Charles (Sharon) Toms, Jr., William (Theresa) Toms, Gary (Debbie) Toms, Doug Toms, Paul (Jenny) Toms; daughters, Talta (Joe) Williams,; 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; brother, Paul Toms; sisters, Wanda Manning and Talta Palmer. He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Patti Staggs.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike England officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
